The waist is elasticized with a thick drawstring to adjust, and from there a very wide fit falls the whole length of the leg down to the elasticized cuff at the ankle. The pockets are at the sides, without flaps, built into the seam.
It works best in fleece-back or brushed fleece-back knit, for the volume this wide fit needs to hang well without losing shape.
