Fitted blouse with a mandarin collar, a button front and fine vertical pleats that start at the yoke. The waist has a peplum with a tiered ruffle that falls over the hip, and the sleeves are three-quarter length with a narrow cuff.
Because of the smooth drape and subtle sheen seen in the fabric, a lightweight woven fabric such as poplin or crepe works best, holding the pleats well without adding volume. Cut the peplum separately and sew it to the waist so the ruffle falls evenly.
