Long dress with thin straps and a deep V-neckline, with the back completely bare and crossed by two straps. The body fits to the knee and from there opens into a skirt with a short train and a high side slit.
A woven fabric with drape and satin sheen, such as satin or crepe, works best so the fitted body does not show every line and the train keeps its movement. Cut the body on the bias to get the mermaid effect without wrinkles.
