Very wide, straight-leg pants that fall to the instep, with a high rise and a gathered elastic waist. Each leg has a vertical line of topstitching at the center front that marks a crease. The front pockets look roomy and, in one of the versions, stand out as rectangular patches over the hip.
It works best in a thick knit or a lightweight plush with enough body to hold the front lines. A good approach is to press and topstitch those lines before assembling the leg, and to secure the elastic casing with a reinforcing seam.
