Free patternmaking and garment production course
A free, complete course: from the fundamentals of a sewing pattern to producing and selling in batches. Seven modules and 25 lessons.
Module 1: Sewing Pattern Fundamentals
Before you cut your first piece of fabric, it helps to understand what you are holding. This module explains what a sewing pattern is, how to read it, and why it is drawn the way it is. It is useful both for people who have never seen one and for people who already sew but have always copied from another garment.
Module 2: Measurements and sizing
This module explains where the numbers in a sewing pattern come from. It is the part that separates making clothes for one person from producing for a market: for one person you take measurements, for a market you work from a size chart.
Module 3: Working with Digital Sewing Patterns
A digital sewing pattern is not used the same way as a paper one: first you have to turn it into a physical pattern correctly. This module covers the part that causes the most mistakes in practice, which is not sewing but printing.
Module 4: Cutting and Sewing
This is where the sewing pattern becomes a garment. It is the stage that decides most of your production cost, because cutting time and sewing time are what you pay for on every unit.
Module 5: Production and costs
The numbers that decide whether a production run makes a profit or leaves you with dead stock. This module isn't about sewing: it's about the three calculations you need to be able to do before you buy the fabric.
Module 6: Leather Goods: Bags, Backpacks and Purses
Leather goods are the best way to add revenue without changing customers: you sell to the same person who buys your clothing, there is no size range to work out, and you can use offcuts that a garment production run would throw away.
Module 7: Selling What You Produce
Producing without selling is just making inventory. This module closes the course with the three decisions that turn production into a business: how much to charge, where to sell, and what you can legally do with what you produce.

How to buy from Moldey
Choose the pattern and the format, pay with Mercado Pago, PayPal, bank transfer or cryptocurrency, and download the file. The price depends on the format and, for each format, it is the same across the whole catalog and in every country: $10 for PDF A4, $15 for plotter PDF, $20 for the sublimation file and $50 for the editable Audaces and Optitex files. A new pattern developed to order costs $100. PLT, DXF/AAMA and CDR files, for plotters and CAD, can also be requested through WhatsApp or Telegram.
Every size comes in the same file. Delivery is digital: no shipping, no freight, no customs. Patterns are sold with a commercial production license, so you can make and sell the garments with no unit limit.
